    The U.S. spends the most on education ($1.3 trillion national education budget) but is far behind leading industrialized countries, especially in terms of those who have earned college-degrees and advanced training. So whatever the challenges that impede U.S. education quality, is it fair to say that lack of money isn't the major issue?

    Despite having one of the strongest economies in the world, the U.S. education systems ranks 14th globally. Americans have to deal with this reality in order to find a path forward. But there are also remarkable schools that are producing students who are well-prepared for the next level of education and for life. Why isn't that success spreading to other schools?

    Flawed but Strong

    The U.S. system may be flawed but it's also very strong in certain areas. Across the full spectrum of K-12 American schools, some are achieving remarkable outcomes in specific areas of curriculum, operational excellence, personnel, board leadership, technology, etc. For the sake of children and the American dream, how can successful school designs be made more pervasive and contagious across the country? 

    Building on Strengths

    At SGF we're producing a portfolio of school designs based on schools that are producing "outlier" results. We have the expertise and tools to analyze, create, and share these models so that they can be successfully implemented elsewhere. We also connect the funding and support needed to achieve the goals. Building on the strenths of the U.S. education system, we're producing global impact.

We are committed to building on the strengths of our entire national portfolio of education systems and models to curate a portfolio of remarkable school designs. The purpose of this portfolio isn’t to rank these institutions nor to drive comparative marketing. Instead, using our proprietary design methodology, we research what is genuinely working—beyond the hype—to gain a deep understanding of why and how success has been achieved. We’re not looking for “one hit wonders” with features that cannot be duplicated elsewhere. This is about proven success that is the result of intentional and replicable design and leadership.
